The idea of Adynaton Designs came about in the spring of 2023 while Chad and Jarrett worked together at a cabinetry shop in Austin, TX. One day the topic of building furniture came up and the first seed was planted. The concept of designing and crafting furniture together continued for weeks and became so frequent that they decided to finally take action. Fast forward a little over a year to the Fall of 2024 and Adynaton Designs became official with the launch of its website.

Now Chad and Jarrett pour their imaginations and creativity into designing and building custom furniture. Starting Adynaton Designs has been a dream come true and they want to bring your dream furniture to life by creating artistic and functional pieces that can be enjoyed in any home or business.

Why “Adynaton” & What Does It Mean?

“Adynaton” is a term with origins stemming from ancient Greece. Today it is typically used as a figure of speech in order to describe an impossibility in an exaggerative manner. A common usage of an Adynaton that many have heard is “That will happen when pigs fly.” So why use this as the namesake of our business? We believe this term epitomizes exactly what we want to accomplish here at Adynaton Designs. Every day our goal is to take an idea for a piece of furniture or cabinetry that at first appears impossible, and then bring it to life for our clients. The name is a daily reminder for us to push the boundaries when designing furniture in order to provide truly one-of-a-kind pieces.

About Us

Hello, my name is Jarrett! I grew up in the panhandle of Northwest Florida until college, where I attended the University of Texas at Austin (Hook em’). I’ve always been handy with tools as I helped my father with various projects and woodworking was always around me. My great-grandfather (Papa Rolison) was a cabinet maker his whole life and to this day I use the step stool that he gave my father, which he then gave to me. This small piece of furniture represents precisely what I want to achieve here at Adynaton Designs; A piece that can be useful to a family for generations.

Sitting down, designing unique pieces, and then transferring it from the paper into furniture is more fulfilling than anything I’ve done before. I love bringing my dreams to life through designing and building; Now I want to deliver that same feeling to others through Adynaton Designs.

My name is Chad Conwell.  I grew up on a small farm just outside Austin, TX. Growing up on a farm was a lot of work and there was always something that needed to be fixed or built, which for me was my favorite part! I also discovered my love for trees growing up in the Texas Hill Country and have always been captivated by the beauty in and outside of a tree. Turns out, if you combine a love for working with your hands and a passion for trees, you come up with a woodworker!  (funny how that works). To me, woodworking is not just an avenue to earn an income, it's more importantly a calling. It's the perfect outlet to express creativity by utilizing nature’s beauty. Woodworking is also a great teacher. It requires patience and repetition to become a good practitioner and there is always more to learn. So, if you commission us to make a piece, just know we will be just as excited as you to build it; if not more. I have found there is nothing more satisfying than a finished project and the next one could be yours!
