Kitchen Cabinet Refurbish

This kitchen located in Austin, TX was in need of a facelift after years of good use by the family. There were visible signs of wear and tear, including numerous dings, scratches and gouges along the face frames and interior boxes. For this project we were tasked with patching and painting the existing cabinets, as well as building brand new drawers and installing all new hardware. The end result is a beautiful, revamped set of cabinets, ready for all the family’s needs!

The first step of this refurbish entailed removing the drawer fronts, doors, and shelves. While there, we took measurements of the spaces where our new drawer boxes would be installed. Back at the shop, all of the fronts and shelves were patched and painted (4 total coats). The drawer boxes were constructed from a pre-finished Maple plywood and edge-banding was applied to the top rails. The new drawers were then installed using 21” Blum, full-extension, soft-close under mount slides. All of the re-finished doors were hung using hidden soft-close Blum hinges and the painted shelves were mounted on new adjustable shelf pegs.

The kitchen was painted in a Softened Green, coating both the frames and interiors. Once fully painted, we were able to hang and install all the refinished fronts and shelves. All cabinets were adorned with hardware in a Brushed Pewter finish, providing a nice subtle contrast to the Softened Green while complimenting the appliances.
